Death Doesn't Get the Final Word

John 10:9 (NLT)Pastor Mike

Reflection

“Could not.” Not “might not.” Not “probably wouldn’t.” Death could not hold Jesus. That means something powerful for you: If death couldn’t hold Him, then sin doesn’t have to hold you. Shame doesn’t have to define you. Your past doesn’t get the final word.

Too many believers live as if the resurrection is just a past event, not a present power. But resurrection life means freedom is available right now. You are not stuck. You are not finished. You are not defined by your worst moment. Because Jesus is alive…your story is still being written.

Application

  • What feels like it still “has a grip” on you?
  • What would it look like to believe that it doesn’t have to anymore?
  • Speak truth over your life: “This does not define me–Jesus does.”

Daily Challenge

Write down one thing from your past that still tries to define you-and then write: “This does not have the final word. Jesus does.”

Prayer

Jesus, thank You that death could not hold You-and my past doesn’t have to hold me. Help me walk in the freedom You have already secured. Amen.
